Double Stack Battery Extractors
BE-DS
An IIoT Forklift Battery Changer for Vertical Storage Systems
The BHS Double Stack Battery Extractor (BE-DS) effortlessly transfers batteries from racking systems up to two levels high. Paired with Double Stack System Stands, the BE-DS provides a quick return on investment by significantly improving efficiency in the battery room. Fully wired for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), the BE-DS provides reliable performance along with detailed reporting on usage, preventive maintenance, and safety issues.
Authorized users access system data through the BHS IIoT Portal, where admins can control operator accounts, configure email notifications, and view system health alerts as well as operator session logs. All these features are highly configurable, and operate on the regional, single-facility, or even single-asset level.
The BE-DS incorporates several exclusive safety features to ensure unprecedented protection for operators. The Non-Inner-Flow Manifold controls hydraulic power, adjusting to shifting loads. Meanwhile, velocity fuses instantly arrest vertical travel in the unlikely event of hydraulic hose rupture. Four hydraulic lift cylinders provide safe, smooth lift travel, while a pair of powered drive wheels move the carriage quietly along the track.
Safety alerts notify operators and managers when there’s an unsafe change in the unit’s levelness, or when an impact to the machine is sensed. A proximity sensor on the dash prevents unauthorized access to system controls. Digital support products include a mobile manager dashboard and a touchscreen operator interface, both of which provide the data users need to improve both safety and efficiency in the battery room.
Higher Capacity Storage within a Small Footprint
When storage prices are at a premium, storing forklift batteries in stacked system stands can free up more space for revenue-generating activities. The BE-DS speeds up battery changes while conserving valuable space, and provides dependable service for battery fleets with an approximate range of 100 – 149 batteries.
