BHS, Inc. Partners with Customers to Create Custom Tugger Trailers

July 11, 2018 — St. Louis, MO — BHS, Inc., a leading provider of warehouse equipment and material handling solutions, recently announced a new opportunity for users of tugger trains. In addition to three stock models of Tugger Trailers, BHS now offers fully customized units, designed and built to meet precise customer specifications.

"Tugger trains are gaining steam in lots of industries, and no one-size-fits-all trailer is ideal for everyone," said Melissa Bowen of BHS, Inc. Marketing. "If what we have doesn't fit your application, our team will build something new." BHS-Tugger-Trailer

Engineers from BHS work with customers to design unique Tugger Trailers, Bowen said. Once all parties sign off on the renderings, the BHS manufacturing team builds the units at their 138,000-square-foot facility in St. Louis. Advanced CNC machining, laser cutters, and robotic welding allow BHS to produce original products with extremely short lead times, Bowen said.

"This isn't a situation where you give your specifications and then, six months later, we ship the finished product," she said. "We work within the customer's timeline."

Custom Tugger Trailers are available in stainless steel for food-production and pharmaceutical providers. Alternately, they can be finished with a chemical-resistant powder coating in the customer's choice of color. Engineers partner with customers to choose caster size and design, fork pockets, lifting eye bolts, hitches, and other transport options. Tugger-Trailer-Train

"Our engineering team has decades of experience working with customers to build custom solutions," Bowen said. "For some applications, only specialty equipment will do."
