BHS, Inc Joins the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED)

Feb. 19, 2020 — St. Louis, MO — BHS, Inc., a leading manufacturer of electrical material handling equipment, is officially a member of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED). But there’s a twist.

The Midwestern company is known as the manufacturer behind material handling solutions like the Parallel Reel Payout and the Spool Winding Trolley. Despite this reputation for manufacturing, BHS has joined NAED not as a manufacturer, but as a Service Allied Partner. The move highlights BHS’ role as a custom solutions designer, material handling integrator, and Industry 4.0 pioneer in the electrical distribution space.

“People know us as a manufacturer,” said Melissa Bowen, of BHS marketing. “But when we looked at the member categories at NAED, we realized that joining as a Service Allied Partner better represents our full range of capabilities.”

The trade group for electrical distributors and their partners allows members to join as manufacturers, distributors, or Allied Partners, who provide services and technology. The products that BHS manufactures are just one piece of their solutions-oriented approach, Bowen said.

“Our IIoT [Industrial Internet of Things] solutions bridge the gap between products and services,” Bowen said. “They encompass both, all with the goal of solving industry problems. We’re excited to work with our fellow NAED members to identify those problems and engineer the fix.”

BHS, Inc. officially joined NAED in 2019, and remains a member in good standing.

“We’re proud to be part of the NAED team,” Bowen said. “The conversation is just getting started.”
