Custom-Built Industrial Carts from BHS, Inc. Meet Unique Specifications

Nov. 13, 2018 — St. Louis, MO — BHS, Inc., a leading manufacturer of material-handling equipment, now offers fully customized Order Picking Carts to meet exact customer specifications. Buyers can choose from virtually any combination of sizes, shapes, shelf configurations, caster designs, and more.
"We started offering Order Picking Carts primarily for the warehousing industry, and designed them accordingly," said Melissa Bowen, of BHS Marketing. "But dealers and customers kept asking us for carts designed for more niche applications. The best way to deliver is to work with them to build solutions for specific uses." 
Stock Order Picking Carts contain three steel shelves over a steel, powder-coated base. With a custom unit, users can add as many shelves as they need, or even pare down the options to a single flatbed material cart.
Users will find it easy to share specifications for custom orders thanks to a new tool on the BHS website that allows customers and dealers to fill out a spec sheet on all custom OPC orders.
"There's a button right on the product page," Bowen said. "We wanted to keep the process simple."
In addition to features such as number of shelves, height, depth, and capacity, customers can use a notes field to make even more detailed requests. Some have asked for non-skid surfacing on shelves, or for stainless steel construction for use in the food industry; users can even request a different color of the scratch-resistant powder coating that finishes the unit.
“It just makes sense to accommodate the customers’ needs on product design,” Bowen said.
